Mind-blowing Megapixels
The EOS-1Ds Mark II's phenomenal 16.7 Megapixel full frame (36 x 24mm)
CMOS sensor produces files which convert to 50MB uncompressed TIFF at 24
bit colour depth: the standard acceptable quality for leading international
photo agencies and stock libraries. It features a built-in low-pass filter
to eliminate false colour and moiré effects, plus an on-chip noise
elimination circuit. Low (L:50) and high (H:3200) settings can be selected
to extend the camera's wide 100-1600 ISO speed range.
Processing power
Canon's second-generation DIGIC II processor powers the camera's commanding
performance. The combined technology of the new CMOS sensor, DIGIC II and
a large buffer system work together to deliver 4-frame per second 32-frame
Large JPEG continuous shooting.
Built tough
The camera is protected with a robust water-resistant magnesium alloy
body, while shutter durability is an impressive 200,000 cycles. For critical
shooting conditions, its back-up mode allows dual recording to both CF
and SF memory cards.
Flash system
Canon's Evaluative Through-The-Lens (E-TTL II) auto-flash system gives
the EOS-1Ds Mark II a distance-linked precision flash system that is accurate
and reliable in all conditions. E-TTL II achieves the correct exposure
and more stable control, particularly with bright or reflective objects
or off-centre subjects.
Creative control
The EOS-1Ds Mark II's 2.0", 230,000 pixel LCD is ideal for checking
focus and composition and its 10x zoom magnifies details to ensure you
have the shot you want. As well as simultaneously shooting RAW and JPEG,
there's also the option to select sRGB or Adobe RGB colour space. White
balance (WB) bias is correctable by +/-9 levels for both blue/amber and
magenta/green bias and WB bracketing is supported up to ±3 levels.
Connectability
New Digital Photo Professional software allows high-speed processing
of lossless RAW files for greater control. For complete connectivity, the
camera's interfaces include FireWire (IEEE1394) and Video Out. A USB port
is included for direct printing. The EOS-1Ds Mark II is EF lens and EX-series
Speedlite compatible.
